When the last bettor raises, the betting interval is over. When this occurs, all of the remaining players have the right to check, stay in, or fold.
After the betting round, the dealer burns the cards. If there are still any cards left in the deck, players have the option to discard them. In some variants, the dealer will replace the burned cards. This is called draw poker.
All of the other players then have the right to match the bet. If they match, the bettor is said to call. If they don’t match, the bettor is said to fold. Finally, if there are no more players, the bettor is the winner of the pot.
Depending on the type of poker game being played, a player may be required to pay a certain amount of ante before they can begin. Typically, the minimum ante is based on the total stakes of the game.
